Lupe has a message for all of you

The track “I’m Beaming” that was leaked last night was NOT authorized or intentionally leaked by myself or my company. Plain and simple its STOLEN property. And this goes for ANY record or track that leaks or is made available for illegal download from this day forward. Actions are being taken and the authorities have been notified. As a personal plea to all my fans PLEASE DO NOT share, stream, or download any unauthorized or stolen Lupe Fiasco music.

A lot of time and energy goes into the creation of this music, not to mention large sums of money, money provided by my record company as well as from my own personal finances. My music is the product of my life. It means so much to me. I take pride in it and i also take pride in how it changes peoples lives and gives them hope. So to see it treated in this manner really numbs the soul. So many of my family and friends rely on me for their well-being and I rely on my music to give me the opportunities that allow me to provide for them.

So this one i’m taking personal. And I will do ALL that is in my power and my circle of influence to make sure that the persons directly or even remotely responsible for this and any future events involving the piracy and illegal distribution and solicitation of my music will be brought to justice and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Both criminally as well as civilly.

With the history that surrounds the devastating and massive piracy of my first album i’m sure some of you can understand why this very harsh stance that is being taken up. And for those of you unsympathetic enough not to understand i can only compare it to someone breaking into your house and stealing everything not tied down or someone kidnapping you sister or brother and ransoming them back to you. A deep sense of helplessness. I hope you never have to feel this and i wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.

Happy Holidays…

Gucci Mane talks collab with Young Jeezy

This is going to be big still. I still don’t fuck with Gucci though.

Supposedly from the guy he punched:

so here the story. some guy throws their wallet AT kudi… (his wallet, i don’t know why) being in the front, everyone reached out when he was like, “oh, who wants this?” of course everyone in the front is going to be “yeah its mine.” so i caught it and when he was walking away, i believe he jokingly said “if thats not yours, i’ma come get you”. a couple seconds later i felt bad so i tossed it on stage(clearly not throwing it at him but? just tossing it). this is what i dont get but he comes down, over the barricade and punched me. the people beside me were fucking awesome. lol the fans were actually holding him back. then the bouncer came and the show ended.? i still have my wallet.

So for those who haven’t already heard, Nas and reggae artist Damian Marley have been in the studio working on an album entitled “Distant Relatives.”  The album is heavily anticipated but folks have been concerned that the project would never actually drop- a sort of Detox situation.  However, the artists have finally confirmed that the project will be dropping on March 16th.  (Shouts to AHH on the info)

Here’s the trailer for the album in case you missed it…

Check after the jump for a snippet of a song off the album and a previous collaboration by the two.

Nas Arrested for DUI [Dashcam Video]

Nas did admit to smoking marijuana at a friends house yet cops arrested him because e was exhibiting body tremors. Afterward, DUI charges were dropped. Is it just me or did he seem to pass the test just fine? It did remind me of this though…

Haydain Neale – JackSoul

JS

This kinda old, but I just found out Haydain Neale of Jacksoul passed away this Sunday. I wasn’t his biggest fan, but I still remember listening to “Cant Stop” on YTV’s Hit List when I was a kid. That song has been stuck in my head since the day I heard it. R.I.P.

Released on behalf of the Neale family:

At 39 years of age Juno Award-winning artist Haydain Neale of jacksoul passed away Sunday, November 22, 2009 at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, after a very private seven month battle with lung cancer.

On a beautiful, sunny morning with his wife Michaela, daughter Yasmin, brother-in-law Shawn Hudson and friends Davide DiRenzo and Jennifer Hyland by his side, Haydain passed away peacefully.

Throughout his rehabilitation after a car accident in August 2007 and during his illness, Haydain always maintained a positive spirit.

In a statement from his wife Michaela; “Through all these challenges, Haydain’s sense of humour and love of music were ever-present. He constantly brightened the room with his singing and his smile. His joyful presence and beautiful voice will be missed by us all.”

An interment with a private family gathering will take place later this week.

The family appreciates your messages of condolence but requests that you respect their privacy during this difficult time.
